The women in the piece is ceramic. There is jade (I think), a shell, a fresh pearl, and variety of other stones are in the piece. Also included are glass beads and sead beads. The wall hanging is backed with ultra-suede.
The spirtit doll below is called "JOE'. Front and back images are showen. Created August 2010. Joe is one of many spirit dolls created in 2010. The stiches are the fringe, couching, backstich, and a variety of others. His face is made of stone. Beads are bugle, sead, and variety of others.

First of all I want to thank Robin Atkins for the insperation from her books. I can't wait for her next book. I'll be posting more of my work here in the future. I'm new to computers (my husband bought me a laptop and finally got me to use it). The web and blogging are a new experience and I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.
All of my work is improvisational and I never know which way I'm going. I like using as much beads in my work as possible, all sizes small and large. I also like using cabochons (big or small) and anything else I can get my hands on. I love looking at other peoples work and I hope you enjoy mine.
Let me know what you think of my work on these two pieces. There will be much more to come. My January BJP will be coming very soon.
